Memoirs of Motherland
I wander endlessly in search of my land,
I yearn for the musky smell of clay beaten sand.
Leafy banana palms sway in the breeze,
And my eyes stare till the ripples cease.
I close my eyes to reach this special place,
My memories tingle with a smile upon my face.
It’s stamped in my treasured childhood scenes,
Smiling and splashing in the sunny streams.
Seasons changed, so birds took flight.
Spinning with time, day and night,
I drifted away from the tranquil sight,
But my heart longs to reunite.
I wander endlessly in search of my land,
I yearn for the musky smell of clay beaten sand.
Leafy banana palms sway in the breeze,
And my eyes stare till the ripples cease.
